Getting started

How does the design process work from enquiry, to project completion?

The first step is to discuss your requirements and to establish the scope of work. If you have concepts in place, that’s great; if not a design consultation will be needed. Once the brief is locked in, we start work on the first draft, you’ll have an opportunity to make amendments at that stage. Once finalised, the designs will be sent to you digitally.

What will I need in place prior to ordering?

Ideally, a customer would have concept sketches, illustrations or inspiration available to demonstrate the kind of products they’re looking to design. We of course understand that not all customers have this information, however, and offer initial design consultations to help you get your ideas into a format our designers can work with.

Why do I need to use a design agency?

Clothing design is an essential part of the production process, allowing both client and manufacturer to visualise a concept prior to it being produced physically. Designs are critical to the conceptualisation and production processes, and a design agency is perfectly suited to assist you in creating these in a format that manufacturers can work with.

How can I show you my concept?

We accept concepts in a number of ways; via sketches, text briefs, or communicated over the phone/video call in the form of a design consultation.

Do you offer design consultations?

We offer paid design consultations, which can be useful for those brands who are struggling to get their ideas into a workable format. Design consultations are carried out on scheduled video calls using Zoom, or via a scheduled phone call. We can walk you through the different elements that you need to think about when designing clothing, and help with visual aids such as finding inspiration images, to convey your ideas to ultimately create a brief.

Do I need to have any artwork available prior to commissioning design services?

If you’d like to have your brand logo on your designs, this will need to be provided to us in the form of a high resolution jpg or png file, on an invisible background. If you don’t have a logo in place, we can assist you with the creation of your logo.

We charge per project or consultation, however if you purchase a service and request revisions above the allowed amount, we can assess the complexity of further revisions and advise an hourly rate to perform them.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept payment by bank transfer and online via debit card.

Do you offer a discount on bulk projects?

Yes, we offer discounted rates when multiple design services are purchased. We will be happy to discuss any discount we can offer based on your brand requirements.

3D design

What is the benefit of having 3D design?

3D models allow you to see how a design will look from all angles in a 360 degree view, giving a more detailed blueprint for turning your designs into reality. With the use of elements such as digital textures and colour application, 3D clothing design enables fashion brands to experiment, streamline and transform product development. The result of this is a reduction in the need for cut and sew physical samples which can be time consuming and expensive.

How many colour ways are included in a 3D design?

Each 3D design includes one colour way, however we do offer the option to add extra colourways for an additional cost.

How many renders do I get?

With each 3D design, up to 10 renders will be delivered, consisting of a combination of directional renders such as front, back, side and 45 degree angles, along with close up and detail shots.

Are 3D renders to scale?

If dimensions are provided, 3D renders can be scaled to the exact sizing required for the physical products.  If no dimensions are provided, 3D renders can still be created, approximating the sizing of the clothing.

Graphic design

I have a simple project. Do you offer graphic design services on an hourly rate basis?

All of our services are quoted on a per-project basis, however revisions above those included in your service can be discussed at an hourly rate.

Can you assist with graphic design projects not listed on your site?

Yes we can  – If there’s anything that we don’t list on our website but you think we might be able to help with please get in touch and ask. We’ll be happy to assist if we can.

What graphic design software do you use?

Our graphic designers use a range of professional design software such as Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. These design tools can export files in a range of industry-standard formats.

What is a vector file?

Vector graphics are files which are created in a way that means they can be infinitely resized. Commonly used for print and embroidery artwork in the fashion industry, vector graphics are important as they mean your designs do not lose any clarity or reduce in quality when they are scaled to fit on an item of clothing.

Revisions

How many revisions do I get?

As a standard part of our services, we offer revisions. 3D design services include 1 revision, and graphic design services include 4 revisions. In our experience, this amount of revisions allows you to achieve the scope of the original design brief. However if you change your design brief mid way through the design process, you may incur additional charges.

Is there an option to pay for additional revisions?

Yes, we are happy to discuss additional revisions with you on an hourly rate basis.

Delivery

How will I receive the finished design?

We deliver all of our designs digitally, via email, or via file sharing services such as WeTransfer.

Who owns the copyright for the designs you produce?

As the customer, you own all of the rights to all of the designs.

What is your lead time per project?

The lead time of a project depends on the complexity of the designs required, however we are happy to discuss lead times with you at the point of order placement. If you have a specific lead time requirement please do let us know, and we will let you know if it’s something we can achieve, or advise a lead time for your order.
